Adrian McKinty was born and grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He studied philosophy at Oxford University before moving to New York in the mid-1990s. His debut novel, Dead I Well May Be, was published in 2003 and was shortlisted for the Dagger Award and the Edgar Award. In 2011, after moving to Australia with his wife and children, Adrian began publication of the critically acclaimed Sean Duffy series.
