The Day the Dollar Dies by Willard Cantelon
Richard Reynell Bellamy joined Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists soon after it was founded, and in the role of National Inspector he not only came to know just about every British Blackshirt worth knowing, but also attended all of the major rallies and meetings.
In this official history of the movement, Bellamy covers the early support given by the 'Press Barron' Lord Rothermere, and why his support for British Fascism came to an abrupt end. Other topics include the real story of the 'Battle of Cable Street', the attempt on Mosley's life, the sacking of William Joyce, the alleged 'armoured cars' and 'machine guns', the numerous civil and criminal court actions, and of the British Union volunteers who became the first official casualties of World War Two.
In 1940 Bellamy along with almost a thousand members of British Union, was imprisoned without charge or trial under the infamous Defence Regulation 18B.
Towards the end of his life, at Oswald Mosley's request, he wrote it down for posterity - providing this unique inside story of the British Union of Fascists and the thousands of members who sought to bring to an end 'Financial Democracy' and the social and economic decline of Britain.
