Like many a fantasy author before him, Feist appeared to have lost the inventiveness and imagination that distinguished such early books as the Riftwar sagaAnd many an enthusiast groaned when he began to write books in tandem with other authors (when have these joint efforts ever produced anything as impressive as solo work?). So hopes may not be high for this new Riftwar book. Nevertheless, despite the presence of Forstchen (who probably contributed much of the text here), this is something of a return to form. Raymond E. Feist was born and raised in Southern California. He was educated at the University of California, San Diego, where he graduated with honours in Communication Arts.
