Dr. David Whitehouse was a consultant to many space agencies and involved in several space missions. He be came the BBC's science correspondent in 1988. David has won many awards, written thousands of newspaper and magazine articles, two acclaimed books and is a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and past president of the Society for Popular Astronomy. The asteroid 4036 was renamed asteroid Whitehouse in recognition of his services to science and the media.
