When 14-year old Sara Jenkins rescues her baby sister, Myfanwy, from the fire which kills their mother, little does she realise the burden of responsibility she is taking on. Rhys and Sara plan to make a life together in Cardiff, but Sara finds herself alone, pregnant and destitute. Rosie Harris was born in Cardiff and grew up there and in the West Country. After her marriage she lived for some years on Merseyside before moving to Buckinghamshire where she still lives. She has three grown-up children, and six grandchildren and writes full time
