David Ballard is married with three grown-up children and two grandchildren, and lives on the Isle of Wight. He used to run a musical instrument repair business from home, but now he writes full-time. His hobbies are gardening, playing musical instruments, song writing and composing poetry. He has been writing songs and poems for as long as he can remember, but it had not occurred to him to write for children until his eldest daughter suggested that, perhaps, he should have a go, and with further encouragement from friends and family, this is the result.
