John Bird is the former head of Applied Electronics of Highbury College's Faculty of Technology in Portsmouth, United Kingdom. He has recently merged freelance lecturing at the University of Portsmouth with his City & Guilds Examiner duties for Advanced Mathematics. He has written over 125 textbooks on engineering and mathematics, with over one million copies sold globally. He is currently employed as a Senior Training Provider at the Defence School of Marine Engineering, which is part of the Defence College of Technical Training at HMS Sultan in Gosport, Hampshire, United Kingdom.
