Key Stage 3 History by Aaron Wilkes: Technology, War and Independence 1901-Present Day Student Book by Aaron Wilkes
Please note there is a new edition of this book available. Written to match the new 2014 National Curriculum with expert support from experienced Head of History, Aaron Wilkes, the third editions of this well-loved series will hook your students' interest in KS3 History whilst helping them prepare for GCSE. Technology, War and Independence 1901-Present Day is the fourth of four new third editions, and covers: the twentieth century including the Great War, Britain between the wars, the Second World War, post-war Britain, the end of the British Empire, global issues and change over time.
Born in 1973, Aaron Wilkes is now one of the leading History authors in school publishing as well as being Head of History at Castle High School, Dudley. Aaron knows how important it is to always be armed with a bank of tasks to stretch and challenge more able students. He's a firm believer that lessons need to have pace, impact and grab the attention of students. His time at Castle High has given him the experience of five OFSTED inspections and taking two form classes through from Year 7 to 11. It is this experience that gives him a good bank of knowledge and first-hand practical experience to draw on. Aaron's KS3 History series, which is familiar to many teachers nationwide, has a concept and approach which continues to prove strong: it creates attention-grabbing, visually stimulating textbooks that focus on the three things that 11-year-olds enjoy reading about most - blood, fighting and toilets!
