Andrew Jefford has been writing and broadcasting on wine and other alcoholic beverages for almost 20 years, most notably for The Evening Standard, Decanter magazine, BBC Radio Four, and his own website andrewjefford.com. His novels The New France and Peat Smoke and Spirit: A Portrait of Islay and its Whiskies were among the most well-received in the previous decade. He has received numerous accolades for his writing, including eight Glenfiddich Awards, Best Drinks Journalist in the World Food Media Awards, APA Magazine Journalist of the Year, and Louis Roederer Champagne International Wine Writer of the Year (2006 and 2007), among others. Andrew is a columnist for Decanter and World of Fine Wine, as well as a Contributing Editor for Waitrose Food Illustrated magazine. Ryland Peters & Small published numerous of his books, including The World of Wine. He is based in France.
