My First Library by Dk
Develop your child's early learning with DK's My First series, specially designed to captivate a preschooler's attention while laying a foundation for learning. My First books feature bold, bright photographs on white backgrounds — ideal for catching a young child's eye and acting as an introduction to early-learning topics. The collectible My First board books make a great early-learning library and cover a wide variety of topics including trucks, animals, colors, letters, numbers, and first words. My First Library includes My First Words, My First ABC, and My First 123, three visual board books chosen to reflect a young child's interest in learning words, numbers, and colors. The books are packaged together in an attractive slipcover, making sure that the set is easy to carry and stays together. My First board books feature a simple point-and-say layout that builds confidence in children through repeatability and encourages preschool vocabulary and language skills. The board book format is durable and easy for young children to hold and carry on their own, and they are designed to hold up to the rough handling that comes with being a toddler's favorite book to "read" alone or with a parent. This revamp of DK's most successful board books series includes updated photography, contemporary design, and an insightful approach to engaging preschoolers. With charming, bold design, clear labels, and a wide variety of topics, these first learning books encourage children to build the vocabulary and language skills that form the foundation of early education. DK's iconic My First board book series not only provides a collection of educational information books that children can refer back to again and again, but also offers a first taste of independent learning.

Spending most of his childhood chasing insects, he took up beekeeping at the age of 13, under the mentorship of local beekeeper John Simon. From that moment on, he was hooked on bees. He went on to study biological sciences at Somerville College, the University of Oxford, where his work on the relationship between bees and neonicotinoid pesticides (carried out at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology) formed the basis of his dissertation. His current research focuses broadly on bee behavior under the influence of pesticides. He is a passionate advocate of science communication and access to education.
