For children, a Christmas without sweets is unthinkable. Rediscover the classic story of how a little girl and her favourite toy rescue a world without imagination. E.T.A. Hoffman's magical Christmas story is brought to life in this sumptuous retelling by Susan Chandler, author of 'Vegetable Glue' and 'Ingenious Jean' with the unique prize-winning illustrations of Kate Leake.
Susan Chandler was born in Southampton and moved to London to attend the Cental School of Speech and Drama. She has written many children's books, including Vegetable Glue, Ingenious Jean, The Nutcracker and Who's in the Zoo? Kate Leake studied Illustration for Children's Publishing at the North Wales School of Art and Design and graduated in 2004. Since then, she has been happily scribbling away in her studio Planet Pencil, illustrating numerous children's books and designs for greetings cards.
