Palace of the End (Second) by Judith Thompson
Palace of the End is a searing triptych of three monologues. With its emphasis on the human voice and power of the soul in the midst of a destructive war, each account is a riveting and brilliantly portrayed indictment of the war in Iraq.
For White Biting Dog and The Other Side of the Dark, Judith Thompson has won the Governor General's Literary Prize twice. She was made an Member of the Order of Canada in 2006, and she was the first Canadian to win the Susan Smith Blackburn Award for her play Palace of the End in 2008. Judith lives in Toronto and is a theater professor at the University of Guelph.
