Along with his companion, the chatty parrot, the Pirate Boy loves life on his island but he knows that soon the bad pirates will come searching for their ship and revenge! But our Pirate Boy is brave and resourceful. With traps and tricks he soon chases the pirates off the island. The Pirate Boy is left triumphant with his Island, his parrot and his ship. But will this be the last the Pirate Boy sees of his enemies?
John read Theology at Cambridge and is self-taught in writing and illustrating. He worked on The Daily Gleaner in Kingston, Jamaica in 1987 and also at the British Museum where he drew Oriental objects. His first book, Little Bean, was published by HarperCollins in 1996. He lives in Brighton with his wife and children.
