Ann Cavoukian, Ph.D., is the Information & Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, Canada, and is internationally recognized as a leading authority on privacy and data protection. Her expertise is frequently sought out, leading to numerous invitations to speak around the world. She has written extensively - publishing papers and chapters in various text. In 1997 she wrote Who Knows: Safeguarding Your Privacy in a Networked World, with Don Tapscott. Dr. cavoukian is best known for her pioneering work on privacy-enhancing technologies. In 2001, she shifted her focus to the business world, spearheading the development of a privacy diagnostic tool (PDT), to advance privacy practices in business. The PDT has received wide acclaim in North America and abroad. Tyler J. Hamilton is a business reporter and technology columnist for the Toronto Star, the largest daily newspaper in Canada. He has written extensively about privacy issues as part of this general coverage of the e-commerce, Internet and telecommunications industries. Before joining the Toronto Star, he was a business reporter with Canada's national newspaper, the Globe and Mail, and before that, was an editor for two information technology trade publications - Computing Canada and Communications & Netwroking Journal. Hamilton is frequently asked to speak about the Internet and telecommuncations issues, and has been nominated twice for High-tech Reporter of the Year in Canada. He is Based in Toronto, Ontario.
