This is Skateboarding by Hannah Wilson

Welcome to skateboarding, where self-expression rules, adventures are wild and every ramp or rail is an exciting new ride! Join us on a whirlwind journey to celebrate the rise of the global skateboarding scene, from the streets of LA to its first Olympic Games! Check out iconic skateparks and gravity-defying tricks. Meet trailblazers, activists and medal-winning champions, and discover how skateboarding has influenced everything from shoes to art and urban design. Written in consultation with Neil Ellis from Skateboard GB and illustrated by artist and skateboarder Peter Phobia.

Hannah Wilson is an award-winning children’s non-fiction author and editor of more than 100 books about nature, history, literacy, science and technology. Hannah loves extreme sports and hanging out with her two young sons in Devon.

Peter Phobia is a German illustrator, animator and skateboarder based in New York City. Peter’s characters are living their best lives – making friends, surfing the web, rocking the latest sneakers or skating through his illustrated universe.

Neil Ellis, a lifelong skateboarder from Sheffield, oversees all communication, press and media at Skateboard GB, and is involved in many grassroots skateboarding projects around the UK.
