A Walk Through the Woods by Louise Greig
An enchanting journey through the woods from the author of The Night Box and incredible artist, Helen Musselwhite. The forest is calling me with a woodwind song … The branches wave a friendly, green greeting. This way? That way? Wildflowers sway to light a path. Wander through the woods, where wildlife and plants are waiting to be discovered in this immersive and magical paper-cut world. Helen Musselwhite’s intricate and beautifully crafted paper scenes are accompanied by Louise Greig’s lyrical voice in this magical walk through the woods. Peep through the forest and follow a little girl on her walk through the woods, as you unfold each gorgeously detailed, handcrafted scene. An enchanting story which is also a beautiful work of art and a fantastic gift to treasure and share.Louise Greig is an award-winning poet and a children's picture book author with a unique, lyrical voice. Her childhood was filled with animals, the poems of Robert Louis Stevenson and picture books by iconic children’s writers such as Margaret Wise Brown, Charlotte Zolotow, Ruth Krauss, Maurice Sendak, Astrid Lindgren and Tove Jansson. Her debut picture book for Egmont, The Night Box, has been nominated for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal and shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, the Association of Illustrators Award (AOI), the Teach Primary Book Awards and the Klaus Flugge Prize. Louise lives in Aberdeen and is also the director of a dog rescue and re-homing organisation. The wild solitude of Scotland and the beauty of nature remain strong influences in her life.
Helen Musselwhite works with paper to create magical works of art. Cutting by hand, she uses coloured and painted paper to build detailed, multi-layered scenes inspired by the natural world. Her clients include brands such as Audi, McDonalds, Cadburys and Nokia, as well as numerous publications. She created the gorgeous 2016 Christmas stamps for Royal Mail. She works from a home studio near Manchester accompanied by her trusty assistant, a dog called Earl.
