Sarah M.Broom is a journalist whose work has appeared in publications such as The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, The Oxford American, and O, The Oprah Magazine. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a master's degree in journalism in 2004. She is a native New Orleanian. She was a nominee for the New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Creative Nonfiction in 2011 and received a Whiting Foundation Creative Nonfiction Grant in 2016. She has also received fellowships from The MacDowell Colony and Djerassi Resident Artists Program. She resides in the state of New York.
