About World of Books
Join the World of Books (Wob) Group and Make a Real Impact
It all began with a single bag of books saved from landfill—now we’re a global, B Corp™ certified Group with a clear purpose: to protect the planet, support charities, and enable more goods to be reused.
Our three re-commerce businesses—World of Books, World of Books – Sell Your Books, and Shopiago—champion a 100% circular economy by giving a second life to used books, media, and more.
Our Global Presence
Where We Are: We operate in the UK, the US, and Hungary.
Warehouses: Two fully operational facilities in the UK (Coventry and Goring-by-Sea)
spanning 220,000 sq. ft., each holding up to 5 million books.
New UK Office: Our exciting new hub in King’s Cross, London, bringing even more opportunities for growth and collaboration.
Impact: Together, we reuse or recycle over 85 million books every year, keeping as many as possible in circulation.
Our Sustainable Mission
We may have grown, but our missions never changed. We exist to support charities, protect the planet and make a positive impact in the world by enabling more goods to be reused. That’s why we’ve been awarded B Corporation® (B Corps™) status – a business that meets the highest standard of social and environmental performance, public transparency and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. In short, we care about people and the planet.

Our Values
Our values guide everything we do—from how we treat each other to how we innovate and strive for a better future. When you become part of the Wob Group, you’ll see these values in action every day:
-
We are one team
We work together and collaborate as One Team. We act with trust, respect, and ownership to fulfill our Purpose and achieve our North Star. We celebrate success together and are never scared to fail—it’s how we learn. We invest in each other to build an engaging work environment. We never say “that’s not my job” as One Team.
-
We are customer obsessed
Everything starts with the customer. We focus relentlessly on their needs and earning their trust. We take inspiration from data, anecdotes, and our own experiences as customers—it’s how we win.
-
We simplify, move fast, and deliver results
We focus on the right things that drive our business forward and act with pace and ambition. We recognize that many decisions and actions are reversible (“two-way doors”) and proceed quickly, while carefully evaluating those that are not reversible (“one-way doors”). We relentlessly measure and audit our decisions and actions to the highest standard.
-
We protect the environment
Extending the life of books and reducing our operational carbon footprint are core to our
mission and to our value proposition for employees and customers. By reaching more people with our sustainable model, we help protect the environment.
