The New Complete Book of Self-Sufficiency by John Seymour

Covering the practicals from ploughing fields to milking cows as well as information on how to create an urban organic garden and harness natural energy, this title is suitable for those who aspire to the self-sufficient lifestyle. It shows you how to reap the harvest, respect the land, stay healthy and waste nothing.
John Seymour is the grand master of self-sufficiency * Kitchen Garden *

John Seymour is known and respected as the "Father of Self-Sufficiency". He worked on farms in England, and then spent some 10 years in Africa, where he managed a sheep and cattle farm and acted as a livestock officer for a veterinary department. His worldwide experience of husbandry and the benefits of rural life is unparalleled. His most influential contribution has been to live, teach, and promote self-sufficiency, first in Suffolk, then Pembrokeshire, and finally Ireland. Of his many books, The Complete Book of Self-Sufficiency has established the widest audience of both realists and dreamers. John Seymour was an active campaigner for the countryside and the environment. He died on his old farm in Wales in 2004.

Will Sutherland grew up on a farm in Northumberland, and is a graduate of Cambridge University. Having first met John Seymour in 1991, he moved to Ireland in 1993 to work with John Seymour and Angela Ashe. Will later married Angela, and, together, they now run the School of Self-Sufficiency in County Wexford, Ireland.
