The Regulators by Stephen King
The iconic, highly-acclaimed bestseller from Stephen King, writing as Richard Bachman - now with a stunning new cover look. Wentworth, Ohio: a small friendly town where the Carver children bicker over sweets in the E-Z shop and writer Johnny Marinville is the only resident who minds his own business. On Poplar Street, apart from the impending storm, it's just a normal summer's day - with Frisbees flying, lawn mowers humming and barbeques grilling. As the paperboy makes his round, he is unaware of the chrome red van idling up the hill . . . Soon the residents will be caught up in a game of wills as the regulators arrive in force to face a child whose powers of expression are just awakening. If you like THE REGULATORS, don't miss DESPERATION, written as an unidentical pair.Slides slickly down an eager gullet * Telegraph *
STEPHEN KING is the author of more than seventy books, all of them worldwide bestsellers.
During the years 1966-1973, just before he published the seminal masterpiece Carrie, Stephen King wrote under two names.
Under his pseudonym Richard Bachman, King wrote horror stories for magazines, followed by a series of novels, first published in the early 80s in the collection The Bachman Books.
It was on publication of his next novel Thinner that people realised the author was in fact Stephen King. Some of King's recent No. 1 bestsellers are Billy Summers, If It Bleeds, The Institute and The Outsider.
Many of his titles are the basis for major motion pictures, TV series and streamed events, including the classic film Stand By Me (adapted from The Body), Apt Pupil and The Shawshank Redemption, which is IMDb's top-rated movie of all time.
King is the recipient of the 2020 Audio Publishers Association Lifetime Achievement Award, the 2018 PEN America Literary Service Award, the 2014 National Medal of Arts, and the 2003 National Book Foundation Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters. He lives in Bangor, Maine, with his wife, novelist Tabitha King.
