Dr. Diane Larsen-Freeman is a professor of education and the director of the University of Michigan's English Language Center in Ann Arbor. She's given a lot of talks and written a lot about teacher education, second language acquisition, English grammar, and language teaching methods. The Vermont Academy of Arts and Sciences inducted Dr. Larsen-Freeman in 1997. ESL Magazine called her one of the ESL pioneers in 1999. Heinle and Heinle Publishers honored her with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.
