The times of my life by Marie Weir

Born on a farm in the 1920s, and growing up through the depression of the 1930s and the Second World War, Marie Weir traces her nine decades of change in a life lived to the full. Her many challenges and opportunities have been set against a background of huge social, health, economic and educational change, from the birth of the National Health Service through to the impact of the application of behavioural psychologies in the fields of youth justice and counselling. Working first as a PE teacher and then lecturer, bringing up a family of five children, playing hockey for Scotland and becoming the first national coach for Scotland are just some of the many highlights in this memoir that reflects the sweeping changes brought about in almost a century, and in particular the growing opportunities for women to fulfil their potential.
