Julia Johnson is a writer and an actress. She first went to the Middle East in 1975, where she was swift to develop her skills as a storyteller. She now divides her time between Dubai and an old watermill in Worcestershire. She is married with two children and two grandchildren. Emily Styles, Julia s daughter, was born in Dubai and spent her childhood there. She now lives in Hertfordshire with her husband and their young children, Alice and William. Working from home, Emily combines her illustrating with being a full-time mother.
