Diabetes Guide, Updated Edition by Michael Smith
There is good news and bad news about diabetes. The bad news is that type 2 diabetes is swamping the world like a tsunami and is becoming a leading cause of unnecessary death and disease. The world gets a new diabetic every 10 seconds, according to the International Diabetes Federation. And there is one death from diabetes every seven seconds. Soon the waves will overwhelm some health systems. The good news is that individuals can easily avoid the wave by following a few simple life-saving rules. If you let the wave catch you, it is impossible to get off. Most information about diabetes is either a disaster scenario or a fix-it guide that sounds too good to be true. This book gives you the good news and the bad news in equal measure – 50 negatives, 50 positives and a page of contacts for more information. It’s the 101 things you need to know to avoid diabetes death and add years to your life.
