Sian Evans Born and brought up in Bridgend, South Wales. Plays include: Insect Life (BBC Wales 1993), Underdog (WTW, Oval Theatre 1994), Dancing on the Turf (Radio 4 1994), Little Sister (Made in Wales Stage Co. 1996), Asleep under the Dark Earth (National Theatre 1997), Mary Kelly (Theatre Clwyd 1998). Translations/adaptations include: Britannicus (Sheffield Crucible 1990), At Fifty She Discovered the Sea (Liverpool Playhouse 1992), Badenheim 1939 (Second Stride Theatre Co, Riverside Studios 1995) and Tiderace (BBC Wales 1996). Television drama: Episodes of Peak Practice (Carlton 1997/8), Touching Evil (United 1998/9). Awards - Arts Council Translation Award 1992 and Gulbenkian Award to develop work in film 1993. Cheryl Robson Born in Sydney, Australia she has lived in the UK since 1969. Worked for the BBC in film and production, before founding Women’s Theatre Workshop and Aurora Metro Press. She has developed, produced and published the work of many UK and international writers. MA in Playwriting Studies at Birmingham University (1991). Her plays include: O Architect! (New End Theatre 1989), The Taking Of Liberty (Steam Industry 1992), Simply Hostile (WTW Man in the Moon 1994), Versus (Arts Catalyst /Young Vic 1996). Awards include: Winner of Croydon Warehouse Theatre’s Playwriting Festival in 1990; Arts Council Writer's Bursary and Option Awards; Pandora and Raymond Williams Publishing Prizes; Gourmand Special Jury Prize for Peace and Best Innovative Foodbook 2004.
