Murder by Magic by Lesley Cookman
Lesley Cookman's bestselling series featuring amateur sleuth Libby Sarjeant is back for its tenth instalment. Libby Sarjeant and her friend Fran Wolfe are asked to look into the sudden and unexplained death of a devoted churchgoer. The police appear to have lost interest, but the villagers are certain that their new lady vicar has something to do with it! But if it is murder, how on earth was it done? There doesn’t seem to be any rational explanation. And as everyone knows, ‘whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth’. But could it really be magic?
'Lesley Cookman is the Queen of Cosy Crime' Paul Magrs author of the Brenda and Effie series from Headline 'A compelling series where each book leaves you satisfied but also eagerly waiting for the next oneI love Libby!' Author Bernardine Kennedy
Like many authors, Lesley started writing stories as a child. After a checquered beginning, including jobs as varied as actor, model, cabin crew and nightclub DJ, she fell into feature writing for publications including Business Matters, Which Computer and Poultry Farmers Weekly. She progressed to short stories for the vibrant Women's magazine market and, following a Master's Degree where she met her publisher, she turned to her first literary love of Traditional British Mysteries. The Libby Sarjeant series is still going strong, and has been joined by The Alexandrians, an Edwardian mystery series. Lesley also continues to work with her local theatre, which often finds its way into her books.
